They have also launched an art competition to permanently transform Huyton Train Station in Knowsley. Local artist Mike Badger has been commissioned to install a piece of art using recycled materials etc all themed around travel and the famous ‘Rocket’ train which first left Huyton 180 years ago.

"Basically we need young people to submit art themed around travel and fashion from the last 180 years.  Judges will then pick a number of winners whose art work will be incorporated into Mikes final piece of work!"

All the details are on www.kcclive.com. "We want to encourage everyone to have a go!"

Puppy Walker
Puppy Walking is an essential element in the development of a future guide dog. A volunteer puppy walker takes a puppy of around six weeks old into their home and nurtures it for the first year of its life. The puppy walker teaches the puppy basis commands and socialises it to as many different environments as possible, under the guidance of a Puppy Walking Supervisor. Puppy Walkers give their puppy a firm foundation for its later training and life with a blind or partially sighted person.

Volunteering makes you happy and connected, according to a new poll from social networking site i-volunteer.org.uk. 650 respondents said "I volunteer because it helps me to be":
