Elizabeth Day, 'Transplantings'

Elizabeth Day is an Australian/British site specific artist who has worked as a teacher in Corrections, developing garden projects which relate to the history of Australia as, initially a prison for Britain.

She has produced pieces of art that have been displayed throughout Australia and Europe. This September she comes to St George’s Hall with her latest project entitled ‘Transplantings’ which features a film relating to one of these works.

She also works with casts of grass roots around the theme of migration and the movement of people from place to place.

St Georges Hall Heritage Centre is open to the public to walk around and view the cells, courtroom and Great Hall.
